It’s the world’s biggest renewable energy project. And, as dubbed by The Washington Post, it “may be one of the most ambitious renewable energy projects underway anywhere.”

As electrical experts we’d have to agree - the AAPowerLink is one beast of a project, and it just may completely change the face of Australia’s export and electrical industry forever.

This week, Project EnergyConnect (PEC), Australia’s largest interconnector was given the green light, after transmission networks ElectraNet and TransGrid both pledged investments to build the 900km infrastructure.

PEC will be the longest power transmission line in the country, connecting electricity between South Australia and New South Wales, as well as a connection to North-West Victoria.
